The Story:

Born in 1953, Chikaming Evans Brocase, a Nubian dairy goat, was Mrs. Sandburg's favorite, winning 'Best of Breed' in 1956, 1957, and 1959, making her a permanent Grand Champion, the highest show honor an animal can receive. Mrs. Sandburg remarked the 'Brocade' was a Nubian mattriarch, and the pet of the herd. Mrs. Sandburg's famous Chikaming dairy goat herd at Connemara Farms was internationally reconized for high milk production and quality stock. She raised many champion goats, including World Famous 'Champion Toggenberg, Jennifer II'. Mrs. Sandburg raised three breeds of dairy goats: Saanens, all white, Toggenburgs, tan with white marks, and Nubians, any color with floppy ears. She maintained the Connemara Farms Dairy Goat herd for 22 years. 1945-1967.
