Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)
In an effort to help our customers maintain compliance, Livestock Concepts is notifying you that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is implementing changes to the use of several medically important antibiotics. These changes are governed by the Veterinary Feed Directive, commonly referred to as the “VFD” and may have a direct impact on you as a producer.

Over-the-Counter (OTC) to Prescription (RX) Status
Antibiotics labeled to go into the water will require a prescription and will no longer be over the counter.
Injectable Antibiotics and boluses are NOT affected in this transition.

Full compliance with the VFD and OTC to RX is required as of January 1, 2017.
